So my friend Tino popped over with his two boys (later followed by his wifey!) He brought over a little drawing that he wanted to get vectored out for his Mum's B&B in Blackpool for Chinese Takeway that they offer. Tino has always been good at drawing and brought this sketch:

Then I took it into Illustrator, where I showed Tino how to trace an image. He did a 2 hour stint which is pretty awesome for his first time. To where I then finished it off and added colours and shading Manga stylee!

Here is the sketch and the finished piece.

Then we tried out a few different layouts for the banner that will eventually go on the front of their B&B.

Then at the end of the day I thought I'd take a polaroid picture of The Humans (their surname). The boys Logan and Raiden (yes named after Wolverine and Raiden the lightning dude) Look at their faces! Jackie seems to be the only sane one... so far! Love em!

Working on a little logo…

So I'm working on a little something with my bro John. I will hopefully be taking care of the logo and maybe some illustration and my main man John is a wizard on coding and clean website design. Its going well with one week already gone...that's when I have time from fixing the Mini, marking work and helping an old friend with a restaurant banner. Here's a little sketch:

This is how I work. It's a bit extreme today. I have Iron Man playing in the background, while researching online. I also have iTunes there just in case and obviously working on some prep work for college for the next day!

So I looked up some Pop Art tutorials online just to test out as I may try this with my students... I know pop art has been sooooo done already but I think you can get some nice simple effects! Here's the Mini:

First the original pic:

Then the finished piece:

I still need to do a bit of experimentation, but I think I like it here's a few I did before the above using a picture of Las Vegas and Olga Kurylenko.

So the above were just experiments, we'll see how the students get on with this one!

I also create CD cover designs…

I was asked last week to do a CD Cover and inlay for an artist called 'Kurfew'. I was given some info and was told to create what ever I wanted so just went with a slick urban-ish feel. I guess something that I would want to pick up with nice readable text (hopefully) and a few splashes of paint. I didn't have much time to give it a good going over as sometimes I literally don't have the time. You may see it at Carnival!
