Questions again given by Nick:

1. Why didn't we think they were original. (See previous post)
2. Find a picture of the World Trade Center disaster, why did Baudrillard think that 9-11 was not real.

Answers:

1. Well I thought that the Tasaday's were real, but when told that they were then cut off from the rest of the world that meant that they had been un-willingly made artificial. But now finding out that they weren't real in the first place makes them even more un-real. As for Pascaux, we didn't think that it was original due to the fact that it was a copy, even if it was copy I think we thought we were being lied to. We'd rather experience what we originally came to experience which would be the caves.

2.

World Trade 9-11

Now how could you not say that this looks unreal. It was like something straight out of a comic book or film. American's love disasters and always seem to make big Hollywood films out of them. So it could be to American's own demise for glorifying disasters that would made the terrorist's think 'What would make a spectaclular statement against the western world?' I remember watching the planes crash at around 9:15am (GMT) from a live television feed. Looked so surreal, but in saying that it looked SO real.

Baudrillard would probably agree with me. The whole 9-11 had a Hollywood feel to it. Widely publicized and many stories intertwined, to create one big film spectacle that would probably in the future re-created and simulated, which it would see already have.
